Woman arrested with 146 grams of meth and 51 grams of fentanyl at Fort Lupton gas station – Greeley Tribune

A woman is facing two felony charges after police say they found her with distribution-standard amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl at a Fort Lupton gas station earlier this month.

Police arrested 27-year-old Cheyenne Anastasia on May 1 after discovering drug paraphernalia in a vehicle she was driving, according to an arrest affidavit. Police searched the vehicle and said they found 146 grams of meth and 51.3 grams of blue pills containing fentanyl.

Shortly before 1 a.m., police noticed a gray Audi A4 parked sideways in the marked parking spaces in front of a convenience store in the 1400 block of Second Street in Fort Lupton.

According to police, it was the only vehicle in the parking lot. The Audi’s headlights were on and there was one person in the car, according to the affidavit. Police approached and suspected a robbery might be in progress.

When the police entered the parking lot, the Audi allegedly slipped into a parking space and a woman – later identified as Anastasia – jumped out of the driver’s seat.

Police say the Audi Anastasia was driving had no license plate on the front or back, but had a makeshift Arizona tag on the rear window. According to the affidavit, the VIN number on the temporary tag did not match the vehicle’s VIN number.

Another officer arrived on scene and noticed a small piece of aluminum foil in a compartment under the radio, according to the affidavit. When the officer shined a flashlight inside, he said he noticed burnt residue on the film that was the result of smoking fentanyl.

The officer took it out of the Audi and saw a partially burned blue pill stuck to the wrap, according to the affidavit.

Police searched the vehicle and said they found two plastic bags that contained a large amount of a white crystal substance and another that contained a large amount of blue pills.

The white crystal substance later tested presumed positive for meth and weighed 146 grams. The blue pills tested presumed positive for fentanyl and weighed 51.3 grams, according to the affidavit.

In the Audi, police said they also found several syringes and several small squares of aluminum foil – some clean and others with burnt residue, the affidavit said.

Among the medications, the police said they found prescription bottles that had been prescribed to Anastasia.

Anastasia told police that she had a brother who allowed her to use the Audi and that everything in the vehicle belonged to him, according to the affidavit, but denied knowing anything about the drugs.

She was taken to the Weld County Jail and held without incident. A disposition hearing will be held May 31 in Weld District Court.

Anastasia also recently pleaded guilty to introducing contraband into the Adams County Jail in November and will be sentenced in that case on June 6.
