In early April, the Nebraska State Patrol was alerted to a reported assault on a young child that reportedly occurred in Kimball County in 2019. The initial report went to the Keith County Sheriff’s Office, which referred the case to NSP due to the location of the attack.

Following the investigation, NSP investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 46-year-old Chris Wilson of Kimball. Investigators located Wilson on Thursday, May 2, and arrested him. He was being held in the Kimball County Jail.

An investigation was launched after an 8-year-old girl was hospitalized with symptoms of a urinary tract infection, according to an affidavit filed in Kimball County Court. The girl reported bleeding and suffered a traumatic reaction during an examination, according to the affidavit. Statements made by the girl to her mother and another woman about an incident that occurred three to four years earlier at a Kimball home led to the girl being interviewed at a child protective center in North Platte.

The girl said she was staying with a relative. Her mother had been hospitalized and was in Wilson’s care during that time. The girl claimed Wilson sexually abused her. The girl disclosed other incidents, including one in which she claimed Wilson watched porn and she described being sexually abused.

The girl also claimed that in a separate incident, Wilson made the girl take a bath with a boy and tried to force the two children to touch each other. She told investigators that the two children hugged but did not touch each other.

As part of the investigation, investigators interviewed an 18-year-old girl who also claimed Wilson sexually abused her in 2019. The girl reported being sexually abused multiple times over a three-year period, which was reported to Kimball police. However, Wilson was not arrested or charged at the time.

Wilson was charged Friday, May 3, in Kimball County Court with first-degree sexual assault of a child, a Class IB felony. Judge Randin Roland set bail at $750,000
