Five more people arrested in connection with flooding of IAS training centre in Delhi, in which three students died

Five more people were arrested on Monday in connection with the flooding of Rau’s IAS training centre in Delhi, in which three students were killed. PTI quoted the police as saying.

This came after the owner and coordinator of a tutoring center were arrested on Sunday.

There were also massive protests on Sunday when students occupied and blocked both lanes of Pusa Road near Karol Bagh metro station.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Municipal Corporation has closed 13 tutoring centres in the Old Rajinder Nagar area, taking action against illegally conducted classes, officials said.

A statement issued by the Delhi government late on Sunday said a team from the civic body visited the training centre in central Delhi to initiate action against the centres operating in basements.

During the operation, which lasted until Sunday night, around 13 such tutoring centers were cordoned off, it was said.

These included IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, Plutus Academy, Sai Trading, IAS Setu, Topper’s Academy, Dainik Samvad, Civils Daily IAS, Career Power, 99 Notes, Vidya Guru, Guidance IAS and Easy for IAS.
