Driver killed in accident in Canonsburg

One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Canonsburg on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Washington County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the corner of First Street and Hooks Lane in the county.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Canonsburg Hospital and pronounced dead about an hour later, the coroner’s office said in a news release. The person’s name and city of residence were not immediately released Sunday.

It is not known whether the occupants of the other vehicle were injured.

Canonsburg Police are investigating the accident and were assisted at the scene by the Canonsburg Fire Department.
