Teenager rapes and kills sister after watching porn – family helps cover up

Rewa (MP):

Police investigations into the April 24 rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl in Rewa in India’s Madhya Pradesh state have found that her teenage brother sexually abused her after watching a pornographic video on his mobile phone and then killed her, with his mother and two older sisters helping to cover it up, an official said.

Police have solved the case and arrested the victim’s 13-year-old brother, her mother and her sisters aged 17 and 18 after questioning 50 people, intensively questioning the accused and presenting evidence based on technical evidence, he said on Saturday.

Giving details of the case, Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh said, “On April 24, a nine-year-old girl was raped and strangled to death within the premises of Jawa police station. Following this, the police registered the case and started an investigation.” “The victim’s body was found in the courtyard of her house where she was sleeping at the time of the incident,” he said.

After intensive interrogation of family members, it came to light that the victim’s 13-year-old brother had slept next to her at night. It was found that the teenager had raped his sister after watching obscene videos on the mobile phone, he said.

When the victim threatened to tell his father, the boy strangled her and later woke up his mother and confided everything to her. She then found that the victim was still alive. Seeing this, the accused strangled her again, Singh said.

Meanwhile, his two older sisters also woke up and changed all their beds before informing the police to mislead the investigation. However, after repeated interrogations, they finally admitted their crime, he said.

Following the arrest of the boy, his two sisters and their mother, further legal action would be taken, the official said.

“Police received information on the morning of April 24 that the girl’s body was lying in the courtyard of the house. Evidence of rape and murder was found in the post-mortem report and an SIT team was formed for investigation,” Singh said.

In order to mislead investigators, family members told police that the girl died as a result of a poisonous insect, he said.

The investigation revealed that there were no signs that anyone had entered the house. Family members also denied having heard any noises during the night, he said.

“After collecting technical evidence and questioning 50 people, the police found that the statements of the family members had been altered several times. Based on suspicion, they were interrogated intensively, after which they confessed to the crime,” Singh said.
