Middlesex County officials reported that an Old Bridge couple was convicted on July 9, 2024, in connection with practicing medicine without a license and two sexual assaults that occurred in July 2022.

District Attorney Yolanda Ciccone said the investigation, led by Detective Jessica Caffey of the Old Bridge Police Department, revealed that on July 20, 2022, an adult female victim sought medical treatment at the residence of Orger Sibaja-Bolanos, 67, of Old Bridge, who posed as a doctor.

Sibaja-Bolanos sexually abused her and administered injections to her. It was later determined that he was not a licensed physician.

Sibaja-Bolanos was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree aggravated assault, and third-degree unauthorized practice of medicine.

On August 8, 2022, Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said a second adult female victim had come forward.

Further investigations revealed that Sibaja-Bolanos had sexually abused her in July 2022 and given her multiple injections.

He was also charged with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree practicing medicine without a license, and third-degree financial facilitation.

The investigation also revealed that Sibaja-Bolanos’ wife, Rosa Perez, 64, of Old Bridge, assisted in the unlicensed practice of medicine.

Perez was charged with third-degree practicing medicine without a license, third-degree conspiracy to practice medicine without a license, and third-degree financial facilitation.

Perez pleaded guilty on October 23, 2023 to third-degree conspiracy to commit the unlicensed practice of medicine.

Sibaja-Bolanos pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree sexual assault on January 1, 2024.

On July 9, 2024, before the Honorable Sheree V. Pitchford, JSC, Sibaja-Bolanos was sentenced under the No Early Release Act (NERA) to a total term of 10 years in the New Jersey Department of Corrections, which means he must serve 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.

After his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be on life probation.

Perez was sentenced to three years probation, with the condition that she must serve 364 days in the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility if she violates the terms of her probation.
