Adam Pearce rejects request to lift Drew McIntyre’s ban

Drew McIntyre refused to apologize for his behavior on Money in the Bank.

The moment everyone has been waiting for has arrived in today’s episode of WWE RawDrew McIntyre was in the building to talk to him. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce about lifting his suspension so he could get his hands on CM Punk. With a smile on his face, he approached the ring expecting to get back in the ring as soon as possible. The exact opposite happened, however, as McIntyre refused a simple request from Pearce. He brought the referees involved Money in the bank into the ring and asked McIntyre to apologize to them for his actions that had hurt them that night. “The Scottish Warrior” looked at him as if he had several heads and refused to do so.

McIntyre then verbally attacks Pearce, accusing him of being involved in everything that has happened over the past few months. Heated arguments ensue between them and when it looks like McIntyre is about to lash out, former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins storms the ring to fight McIntyre himself. He attempts a kick, but it fails as McIntyre rolls out of the ring. Pearce also makes it clear that he will remain suspended for an extended period as he refuses to apologize.

With SummerSlam in a few weeks and Rollins makes his intention to face Punk clear, McIntyre will probably become even more desperate and crazy. It looks like the SummerSlam The match could develop into a triple threat, especially due to Rollins’ promise to attack Punk if he is acquitted. However, he and McIntyre have something in common, as Punk cost them both the title.

Currently there are no non-title fights taking place at SummerSlambut this brewing storyline between Rollins, McIntyre and Punk deserves a spot on the card. Not only is it Punk’s comeback match after a nearly eight-month hiatus, it’s also one of the most consistent and well-booked storylines currently in the division.

Still, there are five title matches scheduled for the show, so it will likely be shorter. Rhea Ripley will face Liv Morgan, who promised to take everything from her – and apparently she did. Dominik Mysterio, however, is the last thing on the former champion’s mind. She just wants back what she never lost. Rumors that Roman Reigns might return sooner than expected have been circulating for days, and Cody Rhodes is defending against new Bloodline leader Solo Sikoa.

At the time of writing, here are the confirmed games for SummerSlam in Cleveland …

  • Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
  • Undisputed WWE Title: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa
  • Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax
