A video shows people dispersing after shots were fired.

“After the shooting, everyone just fled the area,” said Detective Juan Madiedo of the Gwinnett County Police Department. “It’s a busy area between the apartment complex and the store there. People hang out in that area.”

A video showed a man approaching a woman from behind shortly before someone opened fire.

The shooter shot the man multiple times before everyone left the scene, leaving police with few answers.

“We are still searching the area for additional video footage, conducting interviews and searching for videos,” police said.

People told Johnson it was normal for people to be in the woods at night. Despite several witnesses, the shooting remains a mystery.

“We need the public’s help to disclose information,” Madiedo said.

Police have not released the victim’s name while they try to identify his family.
