Boys panic after car accident, die after being hit by oncoming truck near Bengaluru | Bangalore News

A police official said a friend of the deceased boys, who was driving the Hyundai Getz, tried to overtake a heavy vehicle but noticed that there was another vehicle in front of him. He slowed down but hit the truck. The car was then hit from behind by another vehicle. As a result, the boys’ car went on the left side of the road and hit the side guardrail.

After the accident, Siddarth and Harshavardhan, who were sitting in the back seat, panicked and got out of the car to cross the median without noticing the oncoming vehicles on the road. A truck travelling from Devanahalli to Hoskote hit both the boys and they died on the spot. The other two boys, who were sitting in the front seats, sustained minor injuries as they were wearing seat belts.

A police officer said the boy driving the car was a minor. “We arrested the minor boy and his father for letting him drive. The minors who were in the front seat are out of danger and recovering,” the officer said.

Sulibele police have filed charges under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (reckless and negligent driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
