PTI suspends Sher Afzal Marwat for disciplinary violations

The PTI leaders met with the founder of the party, Imran Khanwho is currently detained, on Thursday. During this meeting, they decided to suspend Marwat due to his repeated violations of party discipline over the past month. Party officials stated that Marwat’s behavior had crossed acceptable limits, necessitating disciplinary action. They stressed that no leader is above the party’s code of conduct and that any leader who violates party lines will face similar consequences.

Before his suspension, the PTI had served Marwat with a notice of challenge for making remarks that were considered irresponsible and damaging to the party’s reputation. PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan, who issued the notice, demanded an explanation from Marwat within three days. The notice highlighted that Marwat’s remarks were contrary to party discipline and violated Imran Khan’s directives that underscore the importance of responsible behaviour.

Marwat now faces further disciplinary action if he does not provide a satisfactory explanation. This decisive action by the PTI underlines the party’s commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity within its ranks and signals that all members, regardless of their position, must adhere to the party’s standards.
