A young man from Bangladesh was killed in a road accident in Brits in the north-western province of South Africa on Friday evening.

The deceased is Mosharraf Hossain Milon, 36, of Paikpara village in Bogadana municipality of Sonagazi in Feni.

Milon’s father, Noor Islam, said Milon was seriously injured when he was hit by a truck while returning from a mosque.

Milon was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, Noor Islam said.

In search of a livelihood, Milon went to South Africa in 2011, his father said. He ran several businesses there, including two shops.

Milon’s relative Emdad Hossain said Milon’s body was in the hospital morgue and would be sent to Bangladesh, which was already in process.
