Wichita issues warning about unhealthy air quality

WICHITA, Kansas (KWCH) – The City of Wichita has issued a warning about poor air quality in the city, which has reached levels considered unhealthy for “sensitive groups.”

“People with lung conditions such as asthma, children and adolescents, older adults and people who regularly spend six or more hours a day outdoors are encouraged to take steps to reduce their exposure,” the city advises.

These steps include:

  • Choose less strenuous activities (like walking instead of running) so that you don’t have to breathe as hard
  • Reduce the amount of time you spend active outdoors.
  • Be active outdoors when air quality is better.
