Third suspect arrested after fatal shooting at Juneteenth celebration in Texas

Three weeks have passed since the mass shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Texas that left two women dead and 14 others injured.

According to Round Rock police, a third suspect is currently in custody in connection with the shooting.

Police reported that 18-year-old Keshawn Leray Dixon was arrested in Killeen on July 6 and taken to the Bell County Jail.

Officials said Dixon was charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony, and additional charges are pending.

Round Rock Jail records show that Dixon was arrested by police in March on several charges related to the discharge of a firearm.

The first suspect, Ricky Tyrone Thompson III, 17, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The charge against Thompson relates to one of the 14 injured people.

The second suspect, a male juvenile, was taken to the Williamson County Juvenile Detention Center.

The shooting occurred in Old Settlers Park during a Juneteenth celebration attended by hundreds of people. Police said the gunfire erupted as a result of an altercation between two groups at the event.

Killed in the shooting were Lyndsey Vicknair, 33, and Angelia Duke, 52, both mothers from the Round Rock area.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected in connection with the fatal shooting.
