Police respond to shooting in Toms River, New Jersey

TOMS RIVER, New Jersey (WPVI) – Multiple law enforcement agencies are responding to what they describe as an “active shooter” situation in Toms River, New Jersey.

The incident occurred in the Ravenwood Drive area, Toms River police said in a Facebook post.

All residents in the immediate area were evacuated and police said the suspect had been “arrested.”

The police are asking the public to avoid the area.

There were initially no reports of any injuries.
