Car lying in ditch after hit-and-run accident on I-57, ISP investigates

PESOTUM, Ill. (WCIA) – First responders were on the scene this morning of a hit-and-run crash on I-57 northbound.

Illinois State Police said they were called to a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash at mile marker 220 near Pesotum around 7 a.m. According to police, a black sedan left the scene after a red Tesla left the road and came to a stop. No injuries were reported at the scene.


In addition, other first responders were on site, including the Savoy Fire Department.

The accident is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
