Juhi Chawla recounts touching story from her wedding with Jay Mehta

Juhi Chawla recently recounted a touching incident during her wedding preparations with industrialist Jay Mehta and revealed how her mother-in-law’s support helped her through a difficult time. Speaking at an event organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Juhi opened up about how difficult it was to be happy about her wedding as her mother had died just a year before.

She explained that the thought of losing her mother and the fear of her career ending made it difficult for her to celebrate. In tears, Juhi confided in her mother-in-law, who was amazingly understanding and compassionate. “It’s OK,” she said, taking the extraordinary step of convincing the family to cancel the big wedding plans, even though 2,000 invitations had already been sent out.

Instead, the wedding took place at home and was attended only by the closest family members and friends – around 80 to 100 people. Juhi expressed her deep gratitude for this gesture and marvelled…
