Four dead and five injured in road accident in Pakistan

Islamabad: Four police officers were killed and five others injured in a traffic accident in the southern Pakistani province of Sindh on Sunday morning, police said.

The incident occurred in Kashmore district, where a police vehicle overturned after one of its wheels burst, district police said, Xinhua news agency reported.

The injured police officers were taken to a nearby hospital where two of them are in critical condition, police added.

An investigation is ongoing to determine whether the incident may have been the result of negligence or misconduct.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan due to poor condition of roads, violation of road safety regulations and reckless driving.
