Man arrested for using fake ID to get friend out of jail who was also arrested for using fake ID

COVINGTON – A man was arrested Monday after allegedly using fake identification and information to make purchases at several stores in St. Tammany Parish.

Later that same day, his alleged accomplice was also arrested for attempting to use a fake ID to get him out of prison on bail.

St. Tammany Parish officers were called to a Covington-area store to arrest a man later identified as Renandson Parfait, 34, of New York. Parfait is accused of making several purchases in the parish using counterfeit cards. He was arrested on charges of access fraud, ten counts of bank fraud, identity theft and unlawful manufacturing of false documents.

After Parfait was arrested, his alleged accomplice, 40-year-old Alan Artist, also of New York, attempted to get Parfait released on bail – also using a fake ID.

The artist was also arrested for document damage, possession of a false ID, obstruction of justice and resisting an officer.

When officers searched Parfait’s vehicle, they found over 70 counterfeit credit cards.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office believes Parfait committed these crimes in multiple states and is wanted in other jurisdictions.
