Man arrested and charged in fatal shooting in Wayne County

WAYNESBORO, Mississippi (WDAM) – A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with last week’s fatal shooting in Wayne County.

Bail for Drexler Dwight Jones of Leakesville was set at $1 million during an appearance in Wayne County Court.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Johnson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 52-year-old John Harris Walker Jr.

Harris’ body, with multiple gunshot wounds, was found Monday near Clara West Road in the Beat Four community of Wayne County.
