Video shows North Miami police officers saving man who overdosed – NBC 6 South Florida

A man is lucky to be alive after two North Miami police officers saved him from an overdose in an incident captured on video.

The incident occurred in May when officers were responding to the area of Northeast 123rd Street and Biscayne Boulevard.

Someone had alerted officers that a man had fallen out of his car and needed help.

A body camera video obtained exclusively by NBC6 showed the victim lying unconscious on the ground while police performed CPR.

After no pulse could be found, officers administered two doses of Narcan to reverse the overdose.

“Come, come back to us, come back into the light,” an officer says to the man in the video.

It was Officer Carlos Madrid and his partner who responded.

“At that point, we saw no signs of life, he had no pulse, we heard no breathing, he was not responding to chest massage, we called him back,” Madrid told NBC6. “At that point, we didn’t feel anything, we didn’t see anything, that’s when we decided to start CPR.”

Madrid said the man regained consciousness after being resuscitated just moments before paramedics arrived and took him to hospital.
