Consumer alert issued for market in Pittsburgh’s Terrace Village neighborhood – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for a market near the Pitt campus.

The warning for the Oak Hill Market on Oak Hill Drive came after a recent inspection revealed 17 violations.

According to the inspection report, the two high-risk violations have to do with sanitation. The report notes that inspectors found that the equipment used to make slush drinks and the slush machine itself were not properly sanitized. Under a medium-risk violation, the report explains that an employee failed to demonstrate how to properly clean the machine.

There were also several medium and low risk violations, such as rodent droppings in several areas, the lack of a certified food safety manager, dirty toilets, and grease buildup on a dumpster and under a deep fryer.
