2 teens arrested for robbery, shooting man in northeast Houston; 1 other teenager on the run

HOUSTON – Two teenagers are behind bars after shooting and robbing a man in northeast Houston Monday evening.

It happened around 10:45 p.m. when Houston police said they were called to the 4200 block of Tampico Street near Eastex Fwy. Responding officers said they found an unidentified man shot in the leg.

The man told police he was robbed by a total of three people: two teenagers and a woman. He says they took his wallet before fleeing. Investigators say a good Samaritan followed the thieves and pointed police in their direction.

When police found the thieves, a chase ensued. They managed to arrest two of the teenagers, aged 14 and 16 respectively. One of them was carrying a backpack containing two firearms.

At the latest check, the third thief is still at large and witnesses say another suspect may have been involved in the theft that the victim did not see.
