Fire crews work to extinguish apartment fire in DeKalb Co., making it third fire in metro Atlanta today – WSB-TV Channel 2

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County Fire and Rescue Services were working to extinguish an apartment fire.

Monday evening, first responders were called to 1103 Briarlake Court.

They arrived to heavy smoke at the scene.

DKFR said that at present there were no injuries or entrapments.

This is the third fire in metro Atlanta on Monday.

Early Monday morning, a family of six was killed in a massive house fire in Coweta County.

The victims ranged in age from 6 to 74 years old.

Five other people were injured in the fire.

Then, a third fire tore through a northwest Atlanta apartment complex Monday afternoon.

The building was abandoned and no injuries were reported.
