CHI Saint Joseph Health Market President Anthony Houston to Leave Ministry in June | Community

BEREA, Ky. – CHI Saint Joseph Health Market President Anthony Houston, Ed.D., FACHE, will leave the organization at the end of June. Houston, who has been with the department for three years, has accepted the role of market president of CommonSpirit Health Arizona. CHI Saint Joseph Santé is also a member of CommonSpirit.

“It is with mixed emotions that I take this step in my career. My roots are in Kentucky and joining this ministry in 2021 was somewhat of a homecoming,” said Houston, a Cincinnati native. “I have had the privilege of serving alongside incredibly talented and committed teammates at CHI Saint Joseph Health and look forward to seeing their continued success in serving our communities.”

Houston was selected to lead the Arizona market after an extensive nationwide search. Prior to joining CHI Saint Joseph Health, he served as president and chief market operating officer for CHI Memorial in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and president of CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, Ark. ; both marketplaces are also part of CommonSpirit Health.

“During his tenure, Tony guided our Kentucky market through many challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the adoption of a new electronic health record system,” said Doug Lawson, president of the Southern region of CommonSpirit. “He has put the Kentucky market on a path to a successful future with a strong leadership team, and he has focused on improving the culture and environment to provide the best patient care available .

CHI Saint Joseph Health Board Chair Mary-Alicha Weldon thanked Houston for her leadership and accomplishments.

“Tony has led our ministry with a team-oriented approach, recognizing the important role each caregiver plays in caring for our communities,” Weldon said. “He lived our mission in pursuit of our vision of a healthier future for all. We wish him and his family the best in this transition.
