Driver arrested after collision with ambulance and rollover in DeKalb County – WSB-TV Channel 2

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – Two passengers in an overturned ambulance are OK but suffered minor injuries after they were struck by a motorist in DeKalb County.

Police said they were called to the Clairmont Road intersection near I-85 around 5 p.m. after learning that an AMR ambulance was on its side after colliding with another vehicle.

According to authorities, a truck failed to yield and collided with the ambulance, causing it to overturn.

Apart from the driver and passenger, there was no one in the ambulance at the time. However, the two passengers were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A passenger in the truck that hit the ambulance was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

DeKalb County Police concluded that the driver of the truck was responsible for the incident and arrested him for driving without a license and failure to yield the right of way for an emergency vehicle.

Police officials say they are currently working to clear the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
