Air quality warning issued for parts of the Miami Valley today

An air quality warning is in effect for parts of the Miami Valley today.

According to the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, the warning applies to all areas of Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Preble counties.

Any value above 101 is considered “unhealthy for sensitive groups.”

According to the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius and southerly winds are expected, creating favorable conditions for the formation of ground-level ozone.

The general public is not expected to be affected and it is OK for most people to be active outside. However, they should take more breaks and do less strenuous activities, the commission advises.
