Fatal pedestrian accident on Rt 130 under investigation in Hamilton

Hamilton Police are currently investigating a tragic accident that occurred Saturday evening on Route 130 near Klockner Road that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. At approximately 10 p.m., a 2021 FedEx Ford van driven by a 38-year-old Trenton man was traveling southbound when it collided with a 27-year-old pedestrian, also of Trenton, who was crossing Route 130 westbound.

According to police, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries as a result of the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The identities of the driver and the deceased have not yet been released as authorities are currently notifying their families.

The Hamilton Township Fire Department and the New Jersey Department of Transportation were on scene to assist.

Officers F. LaVacca and J. Anaya of the Hamilton Township Traffic Unit are leading the investigation into this fatal collision.
