5 draft picks on roster bubble entering Buffalo Bills minicamp

The Buffalo Bills are expected to take the field this week for final offseason workouts before training camp begins next month. After three weeks of voluntary OTAs, this week is a mandatory minicamp and should reunite the entire roster for the first time this season.

Although the season is still a few months away, this week is important for everyone involved as coaches continue the process of developing the playbook and players fight to maintain their place on the depth chart, to moving up the depth chart or in some cases simply making an argument to maintain their spot on the roster.

The first player just drafted this year, offensive lineman Tylan Grable from UCF. The Bills selected Grable in the sixth round and he enters this offseason competing for one of those backup offensive lineman spots.

The challenge is that the position seems pretty well established with Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown as starters as well as La’el Collins and Ryan Van Demark as backups. The Bills are unlikely to keep five offensive tackles, so can Grable show versatility and play guard or outperform someone like Van Demark?

It will likely be an uphill battle, but if Grable can come out on top this week, it will be a big help in the process.
