Suspect arrested in shooting of 20-year-old at Family Dollar in Clayton County – WSB-TV Channel 2

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. – A man accused of shooting a man at a Family Dollar in Clayton County earlier this year is now in custody.

Lem Johnson IV, 20, was dropped off by his mother at the Riverdale Road store in early February. Moments later, someone entered the store and shot him, the family said Michael Doudna from Channel 2.

Investigators say Johnson’s body was found on the floor of the Family Dollar with multiple gunshot wounds.

Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen announced that a suspect, Montevious Garrison, was arrested Thursday evening.

“I personally just spoke to the victim’s mother on the phone and told her that she can rest easy knowing that our prime suspect in the Montevious Garrison murder is now in custody,” Allen said in a statement. “Just last week, I told the mother that we will find her son’s killer very soon.”

On Thursday, Newnan police officers responded to a report of a suspicious person and found a gun modified with a switch on Garrison.

He was taken into custody and is being held at the Coweta County Jail pending extradition to the Clayton County Jail.
