Rape accused Prajwal Revanna remanded in police custody for another 4 days

Bengaluru: A local court in Bengaluru has extended the police custody of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna by four days in the Hassan sexual abuse case.

On Thursday, the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court ordered that the suspended JD(S) leader be handed over to the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) by June 10.

Prajwal is accused of raping at least two women, including a former domestic worker in her 60s, and sexually assaulting another.

The SIT arrested Prajwal in the early hours of May 31, shortly after he landed at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport from Munich. He was produced before a local court the same day. The court remanded Prajwal in custody till June 6.

Prajwal was taken to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital on Wednesday. He was earlier taken to the hospital for a medical examination before the SIT took him into custody on May 31.
