Bear sighting alert in East Brunswick

EAST BRUNSICK, NJ—Local authorities have reported a sighting of a black bear in the Lawrence Brook area. East Brunswick Police are asking the public to remain calm as they are closely monitoring the situation. There is no immediate danger at this time as the bear appears to be just passing through the area.

Black bears generally avoid contact with humans. Residents are advised to stay near sightings and to contact police at 732-390-6901 or the DEP hotline at 877-927-6337 in the event of a bear emergency.
