“Jealousy” is trending on social media after the recent incident involving Caitlin Clark

Shortly before the end of the third quarter of the Indiana Fever’s 71-70 victory over the Chicago Sky on Saturday, Chennedy Carter sent Caitlin Clark into next week with a body check.

It led to an outside foul by Carter and earned Clark and the Fever a free throw. Ultimately, it proved to be the game-winning point in the Fever’s nail-biting victory over the Sky.

However, many WNBA fans felt that justice was not served. Carter was not called for an intentional foul and was not ejected. Many fans felt that this was a violation that warranted an ejection.

During the ESPN broadcast, Clark was interviewed before the fourth quarter and commented on the sequence.

“Yeah, that’s just not a basketball play,” Clark said. “But you know, I have to play through it, that’s what basketball is all about at this level.”

Carter then refused to comment.

“I’m not answering questions from Caitlin Clark. I don’t know what she said. I didn’t say anything,” Carter told reporters.

After the victory, Clark was given the chance to speak again.

“It is what it is,” Clark said. “I feel like I’m just at the point where you accept it and don’t fight back… I try not to let it bother me.”

A number of WNBA fans felt there was an obvious way to feel about Clark’s recent physical play. Jealousy was the buzzword on social media.
