Man dead after shooting at gas station in West Little River, Miami-Dade

WEST LITTLE RIVER, Florida. – A man died Saturday after a shooting in the West Little River area of ​​Miami-Dade County.

Yellow police tape blocked access to the Sunflex gas station where he died, and a yellow tarp covered a car with bullet holes and stickers that looked like bullet holes.

According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, the shooting occurred around 12:35 p.m. and officers responded to Northwest 79th Street and 17th Avenue.

“They discovered an adult male in a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds,” Rodriguez wrote in a statement.

The Miami-Dade Fire Department declared the man dead and homicide detectives are investigating. One man described the victim as a “cool guy” who “didn’t bother anyone.”

According to police radio traffic, there was an alert for a gray Volkswagen Jetta with an out-of-state license plate. Rodriguez did not confirm the alert.
