A new report brings to light the dark truths of a deadly shooting at Benito Juarez High School in Pilsen.

CHICAGO (WLS) — A new report reveals the dark truth about a deadly shooting at a southwest Chicago high school.

The shooting occurred shortly before Christmas 2022 at Benito Juarez High School. Four students were shot, two of them killed.

According to the Illinois Answers Project, the school, its principal and some staff members made several attempts to block the subsequent police investigation. Records show that the school had to be threatened with grand jury subpoenas to get it to cooperate.

About eight weeks later, a 16-year-old was arrested for allegedly being involved in another shooting. The Benito Juarez warden has denied any attempts to block the investigation. A CPS spokeswoman also said there were no findings of wrongdoing. But records show the agency never conducted a comprehensive debriefing of the incidents.
