Strong afternoon thunderstorms are possible in Houston today; more serious threats Friday morning

Today’s forecast:

Southeast Texas is still in the path of storms. I expect more thunderstorms in the afternoon, likely to cause street flooding and severe weather in the form of hail and damaging winds. Like yesterday, this activity will not be widespread but will affect some of us.

Friday morning forecast:

Our next organized group of severe thunderstorms arrives early Friday morning. About an hour or two away, the storms move inside the Beltway at 7 a.m. This line of storms can bring damaging straight-line winds, hail and street flooding.
