COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (WKOW) — Former coworkers and friends of four teenagers killed in a tragic car crash in Dodge County on Monday are hoping to raise more money for their families’ funeral expenses.

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of County Highway TT and State Highway 16/60 when her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer.

Among the victims were 19-year-old Luis Gamillo and his 17-year-old brother Erik Gamillo. Luis had been working at the Mexican restaurant Don Maguey for over a year and left his colleagues stunned.

Four teenagers killed

“I really miss her right now and I will miss her forever,” said Alejandro Ramirez, owner of Mexican restaurant Don Maguey. “Luis was one of my best friends, not just my coworker. It was really hard for us at the restaurant.”

In addition to Luis and Erik, Luis’ 18-year-old girlfriend Alix Hernandez and another 16-year-old boy, Ivan Herrera, were also killed in the accident.

Alejandro, a close family friend, described Luis and his brother as always having smiling faces and a joy to be around.

Staff at Don Maguey Mexican Restaurant hope the donations will provide some comfort to grieving families during this difficult time, but realize nothing can replace the loss of life.

All donations raised will go directly to the families. Additionally, GoFundMe pages have been set up for Luis and Erik, as well as for Alix Hernandez, to further assist the families during this heartbreaking time.
