Hobart, IN – SWAT team responds to domestic incident, suspect arrested

Hobart, IN – Hobart Police officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 200 block of East 12th Street around 9:02 a.m. today. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a victim and developed probable cause to arrest a 34-year-old male resident.

According to Hobart Police, the suspect refused to leave the home, so officers obtained a search warrant. The Northwest Region SWAT team was called to the scene and the suspect was subsequently taken into custody with the assistance of a Hobart Police canine unit. Charges will be filed with the Lake County District Attorney’s Office.
