Jefferson man sentenced to prison and probation for OWI incident | Raccoon Valley Radio

A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to prison and probation for an OWI crime.

According to court documents, 47-year-old Timothy Williams pleaded guilty to a Class D felony for his third or subsequent OWI offense. All but 30 days of his five-year sentence were suspended and he will then be placed on probation with the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for three years.

The charges stemmed from an incident on January 12th. A Jefferson police officer responded to a vehicle stuck in the snow from a recent snowstorm in the 1200 block of North Elm Street. Court documents show Williams was the driver and showed clear signs of intoxication and refused to submit to a field sobriety test and a breath test.

Williams was also ordered to pay more than $3,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs and other fees.
