Mayor Adams’ office is investigating an “isolated incident” of an alleged attack on pro-Palestine protesters

Prosecutor Jumaane Williams said he would investigate the NYPD’s conduct in handling the protest.

The NYPD’s response to a pro-Palestine protest in Brooklyn over the weekend continues to come under scrutiny from officials who fear police are going too far in videos showing officers roughly arresting protesters. Mayor Eric Adams said Monday morning that officers who responded to the May 18 Nakba Day protests in Bay Ridge did a “commendable job under very difficult circumstances” and said Monday morning that his administration was an “individual Incident” in which officers were involved in filming protesters being beaten and pinned on the sidewalk.
