Michigan criminal arrested for ‘explosive device’ in Fremont

FREMONT, Ind. (WANE) – A man wanted in Michigan was arrested Tuesday at a Fremont supermarket during an investigation that led to authorities charging him with possession of an explosive device.

Arvil Wesley Bryant Jr., 32, faces charges including possession of an explosive device, possession of a stolen handgun, hypodermic needles, marijuana and controlled substances.


According to a news release, Fremont police were notified that the Michigan State Police Fugitive Apprehension Team found Bryant – who is wanted on outstanding warrants in Michigan, including a charge of theft of a handgun – at the Eagle’s One Stop supermarket in Fremont.

During the course of the investigation, police discovered that in addition to the stolen pistol, Bryant was also allegedly in possession of an explosive device, hypodermic needles and drugs, which led to the filing of four additional charges.

Bryant was taken to the Steuben County Jail. No further details about the investigation were confirmed.
