Steve Buscemi was hospitalized after being attacked on the street in New York City

Miracle Workers star Steve Buscemi is the latest celebrity to be randomly attacked while walking the streets of New York City. As the New York Post reports, New York native Buscemi was walking in the Kips Bay neighborhood of East Manhattan last Wednesday morning (May 8) when a man approached him and punched him in the face. The Boardwalk Empire actor suffered swelling to his left eye and face as a result of the attack and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. The attacker has since fled and is still wanted by the police. “Steve Buscemi was attacked in Mid-Town Manhattan, another victim of random violence in the city,” Buscemi’s publicist said in a statement to the Post. “He is doing well and appreciates everyone’s well wishes, although he is incredibly sad for everyone that this happened to him while he was walking the streets of New York.
