Man dead after altercation in Penticton, B.C.: RCMP

A man was found dead after an altercation between several people near the shore of Okanagan Lake in Penticton, B.C., RCMP in B.C.’s Southern Interior said.

Police said in a statement on Sunday that they first responded to reports of the altercation around 2 a.m. (local time) on Sunday near the Riverside Skate Park.

When they arrived, they found a seriously injured man who has since died.

Police cordoned off the area of ​​Lakeshore Drive near Power Street and the skate park while they investigated the death.

“Police are investigating this as a criminal offense and would like to reassure the public that this appears to be a targeted act,” said Cpl. James Grandy in a statement.
