National Alert is suspending all outdoor operations at Disney and all guests are being suspended

The weather at Disneyland Paris is currently not ideal, which is why the resort had to send out a closure warning for most attractions in the theme park.

When guests arrive at Disneyland Paris, they typically expect a lot of offerings around the resort, with the attractions being the main focus. As with any theme park, guests come to Disney parks not only to enjoy the scenery, but also to experience Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and all of the other park rides that make Disney even more magical.

While rides may be temporarily shut down for maintenance or renovation work, this usually does not pose too much of a burden on guests as the majority of rides remain in operation. There are times like today when the weather can end the magic prematurely.

French news agencies reported: “A fierce storm will bring heavy rain and hail to the north of France, while wet weather will hit large parts of the country.” State weather service Météo France has issued weather warnings for many departments.”

The approaching storm brings a significant risk of flooding and other weather hazards, so residents must be warned to prepare.

Météo France has designated 14 departments as high-risk areas and placed them on orange alert. These departments are: Somme, Aisne, Oise, Marne, Aube, Yonne, Seine-et-Marne, Essonne, Yvelines, Val-d’Oise, Val-de-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, Hauts-de-Seine, and Paris. Residents in these areas should be particularly vigilant as they face an increased risk of flooding from overflowing waterways.

The storm’s impact extends beyond the 14 counties with the highest alert level. Another 51 departments have been placed on yellow alert, indicating possible dangers. While specific risks may vary by location, residents of these areas should also stay aware of the latest weather updates and be prepared for possible disruptions.

Météo France urges residents of vulnerable areas to take precautionary measures. This includes avoiding unnecessary travel during the storm and being aware of the risk of flooding. By staying informed and taking necessary actions, residents can help ensure their safety during the storm event.

As we can see from the Disneyland Paris reporter DLP Report, there were thunderstorms hitting the theme parks throughout the day.

DLP Report also said that all outdoor attractions had to be closed due to the weather warning for thunderstorms extending across both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.

🔧 All outdoor attractions are currently closed due to the ongoing severe weather warning for thunderstorms across the resort.

When these warnings occur, all outdoor rides will be forced to cease operations immediately. Luckily, once the thunder is no longer near the theme park, the rides will be operational again. Additionally, all indoor attractions remain open no matter the weather, so Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan’s Flight never have to worry about closing.

If bad weather shuts down operations at Disneyland Paris, it’s a bigger deal since it’s not too common for the theme park since it’s located in Orlando. At Walt Disney World, attractions often have to close due to thunderstorms. For this reason, most of the attractions were designed to be indoors so that Florida’s rainy climate wouldn’t be too much of a problem.

If you’ve been keeping up with Euro Disney Park news or have recently visited, you’re probably aware of the ongoing changes at Disneyland Paris. After years of renovation, the Disneyland Hotel reopened following a significant investment of over $500 million.

The flagship hotel’s popularity has surged, leading to capacity issues. Day guests must now secure a virtual queue reservation with a designated return time to experience the redesigned lobby and overall transformation.

On May 25, Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to be renamed Disney Adventure World) will unveil its newest attraction: Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland. This new addition replaces the Moteurs… Action!: Stunt Show Spectacular, which closed permanently in 2020 and represents one of several changes to Walt Disney Studios Park.

Studio 1, the park’s main entrance, is temporarily closed for extensive renovations as the park undergoes a thematic change. The previous “on set” theme will give way to a broader narrative about different stories or adventures. The renovation is expected to take a year.

In addition, significant efforts are being made to introduce the new World of Frozen area, which includes: Tangled Attraction, within the park. Dedicated sections for Winnie the Pooh and Pixar’s UP have also been announced.

Disney Village, similar to Downtown Disney in California, is undergoing significant changes. The closures include the LEGO Store, Planet Hollywood and the Disney Gallery.

These changes coincide with an eventful time for Paris as the city prepares to host the Olympic Games in July. French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced that the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on July 26 will be attended by about 300,000 spectators along the Seine, marking a departure from the traditional stadium environment and requiring a significant security deployment by police officers and soldiers.

Despite French government-mandated crowd reductions, Paris is expected to welcome a rush of tourists, including many from the United States. Since Disneyland Paris is just a short train ride away, the parks expect increased visitor numbers during the summer peak season.

However, due to the influx of guests and ongoing construction and closure measures, Disneyland Paris may seem less enchanting to first-time visitors. Additionally, capacity constraints, particularly at Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to be Disney Adventure World), may require early departures, such as departure by 3:00 p.m

We’ve seen an increase in visitors to the parks recently, but there’s also been an increase in travel tours due to Taylor Swift’s recent Eras Tour performances. After launching “The Tortured Poets Department,” Taylor Swift is on her European leg of The Eras Tour. Many Americans and others have said they chose to travel to Europe to see the show because tickets were easier to obtain there. With Disneyland Paris just a short train ride from all accommodations, more guests have undoubtedly decided to visit.

Swift plays her final show in Paris tonight, May 12th.
