Houston man crushed, kissed and stabbed by attacker

A man in Houston, Texas, was murdered in broad daylight on May 3, and his final moments were captured by a nearby surveillance camera.

In security footage of his murder obtained by local television station KTRK-TV, the victim, Steven Anderson, 64, can be seen walking on Woodridge Square Drive in Houston to pick up his mail when he is suddenly struck by a car.

The driver, whom police identified as 20-year-old Karon Fisher, then reversed and ran over Anderson, while several eyewitnesses from the residential area tried to get him for help.

A neighbor also exits a building with a pillow, apparently to give it to the injured man, when the driver returns, this time outside the vehicle, brandishing a knife.

The next portion of the security video was blurred by KTRK-TV but, according to the outlet, it shows the driver turning the victim’s “limp” body over, straddling and kissing him, then stabbing him a total of nine times.

The driver then drives away from the murder scene with neighbors still watching, according to KTRK-TV.

After officers arrived at the scene of the fatal collision and stabbing, which occurred around 7:50 p.m. local time, the victim was found unconscious in an alley, according to a press release from the Houston Police Department.

He suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Using information from eyewitnesses, authorities were able to locate Fisher, who was then arrested and questioned by detectives.

Fisher was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with murder, where they are being held on $2 million bail.

They were also accused of assaulting hospital staff and evading arrest with a vehicle, according to jail records.

Neighbors who witnessed Anderson’s murder told KTRK-TV they were traumatized by the events.

“In broad daylight. There were people there every time and it happened right under our noses,” said one neighbor, while another described the situation as “very worrying.”

“I have children here,” the neighbor added. “They could have played here and imagined them.”
