Harford man arrested after theft at Walmart

Just before 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shoplifting at Walmart in Cortlandville. An investigation by officers revealed 51-year-old Scott D. Barber of Harfordfailed to scan and subsequently pay for the goods he left the store with.

Barber was arrested and charged with petty theft. He was taken to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. He was issued a summons and later released on a summons. Barber is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Municipal Court next month.
