Pedestrian hit and killed on I-85 in Greenville County, coroner confirms

Continuing our breaking news coverage this morning. The coroner’s office now says a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle. According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the accident was reported on I-85 in the southbound lanes in the area of Augusta Road, Malden Road and Pleasantburg Drive. This is an exclusive look at the scene from Sky4 taken a little earlier this morning. The DOT says the accident was reported around 540, and now this is a live view of the southbound side. A pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 85 in Greenville County Monday morning. The accident occurred at about 5:40 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Exit 46C. Traffic in the area returned to normal by about 8 a.m. The victim’s name and the circumstances of the accident have not been released.
