First weather alert day: Multiple severe weather risks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Being prepared for the weather will be critical as we are in the middle of the week and multiple rounds of severe weather are possible today and into Thursday morning.

FIRST ALARM WEATHER DAY TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY:

Tuesday will be a much warmer and wetter day with temperatures in the low to mid 80s and increasing humidity throughout the afternoon.

First Alert Weather Day continues with showers and thunderstorms attempting to develop throughout the afternoon. Storms will not be overly widespread or very well organized, but where storms develop, hail, strong winds, torrential rain and/or a single tornado are possible.

Wednesday will be even warmer and wetter, with a high of over 80 degrees in the afternoon

A First alert weather day remains in effect late Wednesday and into Wednesday night as a strong cold front moves through the Mid State, triggering more widespread showers and thunderstorms. Any storm through Wednesday night could become severe quickly and all types of severe weather are at risk. Make sure you have multiple ways to be alerted to severe weather! Make sure mobile devices are charged and weather radios are working! Get regular updates throughout the day on WSMV4 TV and the First Alert Weather app.

Some storms could continue into Thursday morning, so we will extend the time frame First alert weather day into the first half of our Thursday.

We’ll be drying everything out for the rest of our Thursday and into Friday. Friday will be cooler and less humid, with highs falling into the 70s

THIS WEEKEND AND STARTING NEXT WEEK

A passing shower or two is possible Saturday with a strengthening cold front. The high will be in the mid-70s. Sunday and Monday bring sunny, seasonal weather.

Mother’s Day looks quite beautiful with a mix of clouds and sunshine. High temperature, 78.
