CRIME SCENE: Man accused of sexually abusing 13-year-old girl

A 27-year-old Toronto man is suspected of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl by removing his ankle tracking device and leaving it at the crime scene.

Toronto police said officers were called to the Keele St.-Maple Leaf Dr. area at 8:37 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, the accused fled the area after the alleged attack and is now evading police.

Alexis Aldave Salazar, 27, of Toronto, is wanted on three counts of sexual assault, solicitation of sexual contact, two counts of sexual battery and three counts of failure to comply with a release order.

He is described as 1.73 m tall, weighing 79 kg, with a slim build and short black hair.

He may also have a visible laceration on his head.

The police have released a picture.

Motorcyclist dead after collision with tree: Durham police

According to Durham Police, a 65-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition following an accident in Scugog.

On Saturday at 6:56 p.m., Durham Regional Police were called to a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of Regional Road 57 and Nestleton Road.

According to police, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on Regional Road 57 when it turned left and entered the path of a Suzuki motorcycle traveling eastbound.

The motorcycle struck the rear right corner of the Chevrolet pickup truck, causing the man to be thrown from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was taken to a trauma centre near Toronto with life-threatening injuries.

DEADLY ACCIDENT

Toronto police are investigating after a 28-year-old man was killed after colliding with a tree.

Police were called to the area between Nugget Avenue and Markham Road at 9:53 p.m. on Saturday because of the single-vehicle accident.

The driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

1 person arrested after air rifle shooting

One person was arrested Sunday evening after police responded to reports of a person with an air rifle in an east end park.

Toronto police said on social media site X that they were called to Rowena Park in the Victoria Park Ave.-Lawrence Ave. E. area around 7:15 p.m. for a report of someone shooting people with an air rifle.

They said one person suffered minor injuries and they were looking for a heavyset 13 or 14-year-old boy wearing a green sweater and blue jeans.

About 20 minutes later, police announced that a suspect had been arrested and an air rifle had been seized.
