5-year-old girl in critical condition after being injured while swimming in Atlanta pool, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A 5-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after being injured while swimming in a pool, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Police responded to 144 Moreland Avenue NE and said the girl was “not alert, conscious or breathing.”

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to APD.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that the child may have been injured while swimming in a pool at this location,” police said in a statement.

Police did not say how the child was injured. They said the investigation was ongoing.
