COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A fourth person is in custody following a fatal shooting at a southeast Columbus apartment complex more than a month ago.

Chaz Cooley-Ward, 29, is believed to be one of at least four suspects arrested in connection with the death of Jahaan Harris, who was gunned down on June 14 in the 2700 block of Brandy Drive in the Walnut Hills neighborhood.

According to court documents, Harris walked with a group of people from Noe Bixby Road onto Refugee Road and toward the Amberly Square Apartments complex. Cooley-Ward reportedly coordinated with a second group of people to pursue Harris and the others before opening fire.

According to police, Harris, 25, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper back around 1:40 a.m. He was pronounced dead about 50 minutes later at Mount Carmel East Hospital.

A warrant was issued for Cooley-Ward’s arrest on July 1, and he was arrested on Tuesday. He was ordered to post $1 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on July 26.

Also arrested in connection with the shooting was 28-year-old D’Angelo Gravely, who was given bail set at $2 million on June 22. Danielle Hardy was given bail set at $1 million on June 23. And 26-year-old Caleb Johnson was arrested by Chillicothe police after a SWAT operation on June 27, according to the U.S. Marshals Office.

All three pleaded not guilty in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas to two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of murder and one weapons offense.
